A bittersweet day

I got up this morning and shot a couple hundred pictures more of them together.

Moka got to nurse them one last time.

Bessie was leaving for her new home.
Her new name will be Tika which means " wonder of life".
Once she has grown up, she will make her debut in the show ring.

9 weeks

This week they were exposed to more things new.

They had their first vet visit.

They had more visitors come in different size and smell.

They had a car ride.

They visited MeMe and Morgan at our agility fun meet.

They met with more people and their nice dogs which were not "white and fluffy".

We tried to take more pictures of them together, as we knew that they were leaving us soon.

Another picture with mom and big sis MeMe.
They were more vigorous in play.
They got inventive. Bessie found a bone and tried to hide under the "den".

More pictures together were going to be precious.

8 weeks

They learned how to play nicely.

Tug was one of their favorite game.
MeMe 1 Bessie 1

Then Luna came to help.

And someone didn't want to share.

It took a village to raise a litter of puppies. While Moka was nursing, Morgan helped with cleaning up.
They were getting big.
Bessie 12lb 2 oz
Luna 11 lb 4 oz
The barrier couldn't stop them anymore.
They played " hide and seek" under the bed.

Monkeys see, monkeys do.

They learned to come to me when called, and received a handful of treats.

7 weeks

They enjoyed the old weather.

They were getting good at getting outside.

They loved playing outside .
They were getting fast and hard to catch.

We were working on the recall.
They followed the older ones in.
Then they figured out that the sooner they came in when called, the more treats they could get before the other finished it.

And they played.
And chewed.

And crashed.

They had more visitors.

Oh! And their ears were trying to come up.

Monkeys see, monkeys do. They are learning their "recalls".

6 weeks old

A lot has happened in just 1 week.

They have discovered a world outside of the whelping box and have been exploring.

They explored the den.
They met their grandma Hermione.
They were eating puppy food.

They were getting very playful.
The rest of the family had been helping to look after them.

Big sister MeMe was the best help.

She played with the puppies.

She showed them how to use the ramp to get to the dog run to go outside.
And their ears were trying to come up.

Empty nest

After Tika left, I got to spend some one on one time with Luna to get her ready for her new home. She went on a 2 hourly potty break.  ...
